The Beginning

Welcome to my blog. This has been set up so that family and friends can keep up with what I'm doing. So, just to let you know, I've been attending college since August 2008 and am currently finishing up my second semester. I am thinking about a major in Classic Studies - which, for those of you who don't know, is a major where the focus is on ancient Greece and Rome, especially the language and literature. I may end up minoring in Nutrition, or Non-Profit Business, or Graphic Design, or International Development, who knows. I work at with college sports and dance camps for youth as a secretary and will be staying on over the summer working full-time. I have a big interest in doing international work so I am looking into service organizations in Africa, international internships, and study abroad programs.
I have discovered that I love to do things outdoors, so if anyone is going hiking, swimming, boating, rock-climbing, horseback riding, or anything else fun just let me know and I'll do what I can to join you!

So, I'll just give you a quick update on what I've been
doing since the beginning of the year: go to classes, go to work, do homework...ok, that's not ALL I've been doing. About a week and a half ago I hiked up the Y with my roommate, Erin.

This is the view from the top on the day we went. It was overcast and a bit windy, perfect for hiking up the steep mountain!

I like to take pictures of Erin while she is unsuspecting, it adds to the excitement and leaves me room to comment on the randomness of her activity.

This is us at the top, quite exciting no?
Well, on the way back down (by the way we hiked all the way from Upper Heritage to the trailhead and then up the trail) I got bit in the calf by an angry dog and the bruise is just starting to go away (and no, I did not get rabies).
