More Hiking

Last Saturday a few friends from BYU decided to hike up Timpanogos from the Provo Canyon
side, and since I had never been up that way, I decided to join them. So much fun!!! This side is definitely more green than the Timpanookee side and so many more waterfalls! More of a constant incline than the other side too. I definitely loved it :) And it totally wore me out.
Kevin, being his contemplative self.

My shoes and into the valley. Gorgeous right?

The boys...well, some of them.

Jonathan and Scott. Two quite funny men.

Yes, we did go down that glacier. Scary at first, definitely dangerous with all the rocks creating pot holes in the snow, but way fun.

My New Favorite Song

If you haven't heard "Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice, I definitely suggest it.

It's my new favorite song. :D

"Be a best friend,
tell the truth,
and overuse 'I Love You',
go to work,
do your best,
don't outsmart your common sense,
never let your prayin' knees get lazy,
and love like crazy."
= great advice!

Eclipse

Unfortunately, I must admit that I did see the third part in the Twilight Saga. If you are a huge fan of the series and might be offended. Stop reading now. Just warning you.

So, yes, I think the Twilight series is pretty dumb. The only reason I went and saw this movie was because I was asked on a date to go. Honestly though, not the best date option.

Anyways, I can't believe it took me this long to figure out, but I have finally decided (after watching this movie) what bugs me so much about it: Bella is such a baby. She's so emotional and wussy and has to have everything done for her. She's winey and let's herself be run by her emotions. Both of the guys she could have treat her like she's fragile and must be babied and carried through every experience in life. She has no backbone and she doesn't work hard for anything. In my opinion, she's a pouting, wo-is-me, run by the natural man (or in this case, woman) who doesn't seem to have morals. What kind of a life is that? Not one I'd like.

The kind of "love" she has with Edward and Jacob, is not one I envy. She gets her way all the time and is pampered like no other. Sad life if you ask me, and it's not one I want. No way I want a guy to treat me the way Edward treats Bella. Nope! I'm gonna find someone that actually expects me to work hard and learn in life so that we can grow together. It's gotta be challenging, not a cake walk (but not the this-will-never-work-out kind of challenge) because only challenges make you better and stronger in life.

Favorite Thing in the World???

I spent the last week at my cousins helping my uncle out with some ranch work, going on cattle drives, and helping my aunt with her yard, oh and cleaning an apartment. Guess which one's my favorite!

It might sound weird, but I just LOVE the hot and dusty trail...

the spontaneous rain showers and thunderstorms
(or lack thereof)...

the mountains to climb...

the magnificent views from the top...

the satisfaction of a hard day's work...

the squished food and warm water...

the stubborn cows that don't go where they're supposed to...

breaking into top speed to chase down a run away cow...

wooping and hollering to get the cows moving...

and even the smell in the air.

No doubt about it. Anytime I get to jump on a horse and go on a cattle drive, I'll always leave with an unstoppable smile on my face. I wish I had pictures to show you, but alas, I do not. Sorry. Maybe next time...maybe.
