The course was around Sandy Hollow and this is the lake where Jess would have swam had they not cancelled the swim portion of the triathlon do to dangerous water conditions.

This was her first 5K run (I think).

Then her 12-ish mile bike ride, which she did really well on. She passed a lot of people.

Then her second 5K run. I got a picture as she crossed the finish line, but some lady had to step in the way right as I took it...so, alas, I only have a picture of some random lady in a pink shirt.

This is Jess coming up the last bit of the run. Just so you know how hard it was, much of the run was through sand, and right before the end of the race was a sandy hill - yuck!

This is her after the race. She did really well, not surprisingly, and I'm so proud of her!

Jess and Moneka, who drove her down and went over the course with her.

Jess' legs. When they say they are going to mark you for the race, they aren't kidding. She had her number on her hand and arm, an 'S' for sprint on one leg and '18' on the other for her age group (the age she'll be at the end of the year I think).

Benj and Danielle on the sandstone overlooking the lake. They're so cute!

Benj jumping into the pool!

Oh the two youngest girls...they are so adorable.

Saturday night we went to Zion National Park and hiked the Emerald Pools trail. It was very pretty and the contrast between the red sandstone and the green foliage was so beautiful!

I love this picture! Mom, Jess, and me had gone another direction, so it's only dad, Jenn, Benj, and Danielle, but I still love it!
Overall, this was a very good trip, even though my dad did take us on some unexpected stops. It was nice to go on a family trip. Oh, and on the drive home we got to talk to Michael who is alive and well in Seoul, Korea. He thinks that spring there is paradise! We all love him and are so grateful that he gave up 2 years to serve the Lord.
